History: It was common in the early 20th Century for penitentiaries to sponsor baseball teams composed of inmates. These teams typically played against amateur and semi-pro squads from their state or local area. Unfortunately not much is known about this particular Nebraska State Prison team beyond a single surviving photograph of the team with their coach from 1923.
